Children gather in Valletta to welcome Pope
5,000 children including a choir which has been purposely formed for the Pope's visit this weekend are in St George's Square, Valletta, awaiting the Pope's arrival.
They are waiting to welcome the Pope singing "Happy Birthday" in English, Italian and German.

@P.Abela and Brian Scicluna: Nothing was forced on the kids. You should have heard them at the several rehearsals to see how much they enjoyed themselves!!! The organizers were brilliant at keeping them motivated!!!

And He is a Rock Star! Who else would have thousands of people lining along the roads shouting and throwing flowers?

Currently watching the live broadcast.... is it possible for the guy animating the crowd to stop cheering out "Woooooh!"?? It sounds like he is welcoming a rock star, not the Pope!!
