A former employee of Enemalta has filed a libel suit against the newspaper It-Torċa following the publication of an article linking him to an alleged scandal.

Wayne Valentine used to work as a manager at Enemalta following his transfer from the government IT agency, Malta Information Technology Agency (Mita).

Mr Valentine was mentioned by the editor of the paper, Aleks Farrugia, in an article written by him entitled, Il-'Missing Link' Fl-Iskandlu Tal-BWSC (the missing link in the BWSC scandal) published on Wednesday. It dealt with the tender of the extension of the power station in Delimara.

Mr Valentine is holding Mr Farrugia responsible for damages.

Lawyer Roberto Montalto signed the suit.
