A 33-year-old man was acquitted of seriously injuring another in a fight two years ago.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli found Sinclair Mifsud not guilty of seriously injuring Joseph Falzon on October 12, 2008 at Vinyl nightclub in Paceville during an argument.

The magistrate said Mr Falzon's testimony was at best ambiguous and confusing and he could not identify the person who had actually hit him during the fight.

The prosecution did not prove the accusation of serious injury according to law and, thus, the court acquitted Mr Mifsud. Mr Falzon had also renounced to proceedings against the accused in October 2009.

Police Inspector Trevor Micallef prosecuted.

Lawyer Owen Bonnici appeared for Mr Mifsud.
