Twenty-one local and foreign exhibitors will be represented at the 17th edition of the Air Malta International Travel Exhibition (Amitex) next week.
The annual event, which attracted about 15,000 visitors last year, promises to be a "window to the world" where people would be able to make the most of new travel packages and value for money offers.
Participants include travel agents, tour operators, hotels, destination management companies and service suppliers.
It will be held at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta' Qali between Thursday and April 25.
"During difficult financial times, people want to make sure they get the best value for their money and such a fair gives them the opportunity to interact with people instead of computer screens," Silvio Scerri, MFCC chairman, said.
Air Malta marketing and product general manager Brian Bartolo said the fair would give clients the chance to explore the airline's web and mobile check-in services as well as the 40 destinations connecting Malta with the rest of the world.
Thanks to the participation of Munich Airport and the Munich Tourism Authority, visitors would also get the chance to book a trip to Altotting in Germany, which is close to the birthplace of Pope Benedict XVI. The €2 entry fee will include entertainment for children and ample parking space outside the air-conditioned premises.
Air Malta said it would give away 25 air tickets to any of its destinations every day of the fair.
