Customs seize smuggled goods

Customs officers seized 13,000 smuggled cigarettes, tobacco and vodka bottles following a tip-off.

The items were discovered on Tuesday in a vegetable seller's van close to the Marsa Open Centre and confiscated by Customs officers.

A further 35 packets of smuggled cigarettes were found in a bar in Paola in a follow-up operation, Customs said.

Investigations are ongoing.
