Power was restored to Swieqi, Madliena, St Julians and Ibraġ at 10.30 a.m. today after an outage at 9.15 a.m. caused when a private contractor accidentally hit and damaged an 11Kv underground cable.

"Whilst electricity supply was restored through alternative sources, works are still underway and Enemalta employees will be switching off the St Andrews substation for safety reasons later on in the day. This power outage should only last around 20 minutes and will affect parts of St Andrews road and parts of Ibraġ," Enemalta said.
