Equestrian Festival

The horseracing track at Marsa will be hosting the inaugural Equestrian Festival on April 25, organised by the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport in conjunction with the Malta Racing Club, the Malta Equestrian Federation and the Malta Polo Club.

During the launching of the festival, Parliamentary Secretary for Sport, Clyde Puli, said the objective of this activity was to bring together equestrian sport and offer a platform to showcase the various disciplines in one place.

The festival will include races in different categories along with an Olympic dressage and show jumping event and a polo match.

The event's coordinator, Pippo Psaila, said this is the first time that such a festival is being held.

"In equestrian sport there is always more than one player as it has to be taken into consideration that apart from the rider there is also the horse... this is what makes this sport so exciting," he said.

Bernard Vassallo, the KMS chairman, expressed his organi-sation's full support for such initiatives and went on to announce that during the festival funds will be collected in aid of Puttinu Cares.
