Inter's top spot exposed by 2-2 draw at Fiorentina

Serie A top spot is Roma's for the taking this afternoon after leaders Inter were held to an exciting 2-2 draw at Fiorentina last night.

Per Kroldrup poked home to earn Fiorentina a point in the 82nd just a minute after Samuel Eto'o looked to have snatched a comeback win for the champions.

A corner kick took a deflection and went straight to Kroldrup for the tap-in at the back post. Inter keeper Julio Cesar completely missed the ball and it was not an offside position, as two Inter defenders were keeping the Fiorentina man in play.

Inter's Argentine forward Diego Milito had scored in the 75th minute to cancel out Brazilian Keirrison's opener for the hosts in the 11th.

After 120 seconds Fiorentina keeper Sebastien Frey was at full stretch to palm a Wesley Sneijder snapshot round the far post. From the corner the ball was knocked on by Walter Samuel to Diego Milito at the back post, whose diving header thumped the woodwork from a couple of yards.

Surprisingly, Fiorentina rested Alberto Gilardino ahead of the Coppa Italia semi-final clash between these sides on Tuesday.

Second-placed Roma will move a point ahead of Inter, who have 67, with five games to go if they beat relegation-threatened Atalanta at home when the rest of the league programme is played today.

Milan, who are four points behind Inter in third, face Catania at the San Siro.

In yesterday's other match, Napoli's hopes of taking Italy's fourth Champions League place took a knock when they lost 3-2 at home to Parma and missed the chance to go fourth in Serie A.

Forward Fabio Quagliarella had got them off to a great start on three minutes when he slotted in an Ezequiel Lavezzi cross.

The visitors had posed little threat before defender Luca Antonelli equalised in the 63rd after Hernan Crespo pounced on a loose ball and Alessandro Lucarelli headed them ahead five minutes later.

Marek Hamsik fired the hosts level before Luis Jimenez scrambled in Parma's winner in the closing stages soon after Quagliarella was given a second yellow card for dissent.

Sixth-placed Napoli stay on 49 points, two behind joint-fourth Palermo and Sampdoria, who are at home against Chievo and city rivals Genoa respectively today.
