STC graduates ceremony

STC Training, the Pembroke-based higher education institute for ICT and business, recently held a graduation ceremony at the Hotel Phoenicia, Floriana.

Its first graduates were awarded BSc (Hons) Information Systems and BSc (Hons) Information Technology with Business Information Systems degrees by Middlesex University, UK. Some 38 students graduated this year, with 11 gaining first class awards.

The degree, which is a one-year, top-up to BSc level from STC's NCC Education courses, allows students to study locally and achieve a qualification awarded by a prestigious UK university and recognised worldwide.

Middlesex University announced last month it will offer a scholarship on its MSc courses to the highest-achieving BSc student at STC.

The BSc curriculum at STC, along with the taught Masters in Business Information Systems Management starting in September this year, mirror those of the campus-based courses at Middlesex University. STC students also receive visiting lecturers from Middlesex to teach on modules at the institute.
