AMATO GAUCI. On April 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, PHILIP, aged 70, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church, deeply mourned by his loving wife Victoria, née Pace, his beloved children Mariella, Christianne, Louis, Joseph, Tanya, Andrew, Francesca and Philip and their respective spouses or partners. He will also be sadly missed by his dear grandchildren Michael, Steven, Melissa, Patrick, Matthew, Daniel, Jonathan,

JaynaMarie, Aidan, Kylie and Ava Mariella. Also mourning Philip are his sisters, Terry Gera and Jean Soler, his aunt the Noble Lucy Bencini Testaferrata, his in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital, today at 9 a.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Special thanks to the CICU and the Cardiac Surgical Ward. In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip's memory, to Malta Cancer Foundation or Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated.

EBEJER. On April 8, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA of Paola and residing at Żejtun home for the elderly, aged 84, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved nieces Anna and her husband Avertano Grech, Pauline and her husband Norbert Gingell and Miriam and her husband Herbert Brincat, their children David, Chris, Robert, Edward, Luke and Analise, their respective families, relatives and friends.

The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Anthony church, Għajn Dwieli, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Sta Marija Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PADOVANI GINIES - ANTHONY (Ex Customs and Excise), widower of Rose née Mifsud on April 8 at his residence, passed away peacefully at 85 years comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his son Francis and his wife Marguerite, his daughters Bernardette and her husband Mario Grungo, Rose Mary and her husband Franco Camilleri, his grandchildren Mara, Martina and Luke, Mark, Hannah, Andrea, Cristina and Sophie and his great-grandson Zach, his brother John, his sister Anna, widow of Joseph Petroni, Margaret and Josephine, his brother-in-law Joseph Mifsud and his wife Mary, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Mass praesente cadavere will be said on Monday at 2 p.m. at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to MSSP Community will be greatly appreciated.

The family's special thanks go to Manwel Magtibay his carer, for his constant care and dedication and to the doctors for their enormous support throughout.

Naxxar bazaar

The Dominican Sisters will be holding a bazaar at 49, Main Street, Naxxar, between May 10 and 17. It will be open between 8.30 a.m. and noon and from 4 to 7 p.m.

Midnight Mass

Mass will be said at midnight today to mark the feast of the Divine Mercy at the chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Lija. Adoration will be held at 11.45 p.m. Mass will be celebrated by Fr Joe Falzon.
