Silent Mdina came to life this morning as the two-day Medieval Mdina Festival kicked off.

Organised by Mdina Council and the Secretariat for Local Government , the festival focuses on re-enactments, pageantry and floral displays.

Activities also include a medieval street market, jousting, a display of birds of prey, a Show of Arms, ghana demonstrations of cooking and medieval life as well as medieval games for everyone.

A Park and Ride service had been laid on from Ta' Qali to ease parking problems.

Entrance fees for all museums and attractions in Mdina have been reduced.
