Juventus: Juventus have signed a shirt sponsorship deal worth 16 million euros ($21.46 million) with the Betclick online sports betting company for the next two seasons. Juve are out of European competition and the Serie A title race, three points adrift of the Champions League qualification zone in seventh, after a miserable campaign.

Robben: Bayern Munich's Dutch winger Arjen Robben has declared himself ready to play against Manchester United in their Champions League quarter-final second leg today. "I have not come here just to sit in the stands," he told a news conference yesterday. "I am here so that's a good sign and I feel fit enough to play."

Clemente: Real Valladolid have appointed former Spain boss Javier Clemente as coach until the end of the season. Valladolid sacked Onesimo Sanchez on Monday after only two months at the helm. Sanchez left the side lying 19th in the 20-team league having won only six points from the 30 available since he replaced Jose Luis Mendilibar at the beginning of February.

Cameroon: Cameroon have fixed a friendly against fellow World Cup qualifiers Serbia in Belgrade on June 5. Cameroon have already scheduled warm-up internationals against Slovakia on May 29 and Portugal on June 1. "These countries were chosen as sparring partners because their football style is similar to that of Cameroon's World Cup adversaries, the Netherlands and Denmark," said the federation. Cameroon will also face Japan in Group E.

McDonald: Burnley have fined midfielder Kevin McDonald after he left Turf Moor without permission at half-time in Saturday's 6-1 defeat to Manchester City. The club announced the punishment yesterday, with McDonald also apologising for his "naive" and "disrespectful" behaviour. Former Dundee player McDonald, 21, was substituted at the break with Burnley 5-0 down.

Athletics: Caster Semenya, the 800 metres world champion at the centre of a gender verification row, will return to competitive athletics at an international meet in Zaragoza, Spain on June 24, she said yesterday. Athletics South Africa has made clear Semenya is not banned from competition but said she must wait for the results of her tests from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) which are not expected until June.

Basketball, NBA: The National Basketball Association (NBA) fined Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson $35,000 for publicly criticising game officials. Jackson spoke out after the Lakers suffered a lop-sided 100-81 defeat to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.

Rugby Union: The Melbourne Rebels have signed Adam Freier on a two-year deal after the Waratahs veteran rejected overseas offers to re-sign with the ARU until the end of the 2012 season. Freier, a veteran of 87 Super caps and 25 Test appearances, agreed terms with the fledgling franchise yesterday.
