A 25-year-old Somali immigrant was jailed for six months today after he pleaded guilty to travelling from Malta using someone else’s passport.

Awwi Passir pleaded guilty to using the passport to travel to Denmark, from where he was then deported to Malta.

He was jailed for six months.

In a separate arraignment, Adel Abulahbas, a 35-year-old Libyan, was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 after pleading not guilty to making a false declaration to the police by saying he lost his passport.
