A vulcaniser has filed a judicial protest against Transport Malta, complaining that the closure of Valletta Road, Zurrieq, has robbed him of his business.

Jesmond Belli, a vulcaniser and mechanic, said the garage was the only source of income for him and his family.

Since the road works started on January 20, vehicle access was restricted and it was very difficult for cars to be driven to his garage.

On March 8, the authority closed the road completely and indefinitely, making the situation worse.

Mr Belli said he was holding Transport Authority and the Infrastructure Minister responsible for damages.
