In 2004, in recognition of my wife's 40 years of suffering the British climate and to enable her to return to her Maltese roots, I purchased a new flat in St Paul's Bay in anticipation of my retirement.
Since moving in recently and embarking on general decorating and maintenance, I have found that all external aluminium doors and windows have some sort of a problem, primarily as a result of poor installation. While I have completed a lot of rectification work, the more specialised work is incomplete due to my being unable to identify the original manufacturers.
What a shame that my good quality windows and doors have been spoiled by such poor quality installation workmanship. Whoever fitted these doors and windows could not have done a greater disservice to the many skilled Maltese craftsmen I have had the pleasure to meet over the years.
Am I just unlucky or does this also happen to the Maltese?
I would be most grateful if any reader can inform me of the identity of the manufacturers of these windows and doors so that I may arrange for the remaining work to be completed.
