The fourth edition of the popular Festa Frawli will be held on the parvis of Mgarr parish church this Sunday.

The festival is organised by Mgarr Local Council, in collaboration with the Lejla Mgarrija Commission.

Last year eight tons of fresh strawberries were sold, besides the 730kg of strawberries that were used in processed drinks and food.

The activity on Sunday will comprise the sale of fresh strawberries by the farmers themselves (below the parvis); the sale of delicacies made up from strawberries such as ice-creams, ravioli, sorbet, gateaux, waffles, pancakes etc (on the parvis itself); an enormous cake purposely made for the occasion by Maypole and Ta' Soldi; a stand where bags, key chains etc, hand-made by the many volunteers, will be on sale; music and dance on the purposely set-up stage; horse-riding; a section for children's games and sale of other typical food such as timpana, wraps, tarts and sfineg.

To avoid traffic congestions, Park-and-Ride facilities will be available from Ta' Qali - Millenium Stand parking area and Park Nazzjonali entrance, Ghajn Tuffieha behind Hal Ferh, all along the Ghajn Tuffieha Road as well as from St. Anne's Church, Zebbiegh. Besides, all those using public transport - Bus number 47, can participate in a lottery by writing down his/her name and telephone number on the bus ticket and drop it in an urn. The prize is 5kg of strawberries.
