The power supply in parts of Birkirkara and nearby localities, including Mriehel and Iklin, was restored this afternoon after a 45-minute interruption which had many people worried that last Friday's outage was repeating itself.
Readers called and e-mailed timesofmalta.com reporting that lights had gone out at about 4.50 p.m.
A spokesman for Enemalta said that the outage was due to a fault on a 3kv cable during works on the distribution system.
Power was restored by 5.05 p.m.
