A man was ordered by the court not to approach his daughter or her boyfriend after threatening the latter with a knife and being similarly threatened in return.
Joseph Muscat, 46, allegedly drove to the couple's house in St Elijah Street, Fgura, on Tuesday night and damaged a garage door belonging to their neighbour.
He then allegedly threatened Lawrence Cassar, 19, with a knife. Mr Cassar lives with Mr Muscat's 18-year-old daughter Charlene.
Mr Cassar, a baker, was also charged with threatening Mr Muscat with a knife that same night and assaulting him.
In the arraignments on Thursday, it emerged that the two men have spoken to each other since the incident and Mr Cassar expressed his wish for the two to make up. Both were granted bail by Magistrate Edwina Grima against a personal guarantee.
Lawyer Michael Sciriha appeared for Mr Muscat.
Lawyer John Bonnici was defence counsel for Mr Cassar.
Police Inspector Spiridione Zammit prosecuted.
