As the grey days of Winter seem to be over, Qormi is preparing itself for yet another edition of the Malta Springfest - a celebration of life, culture, music, traditions, colours and food.
The event, which will take the form of a two-day open air festival, will take place in the streets of Qormi near St. George's Parich Church on April 10 and 11.
This second edition of The Malta Springfest will showcase a variety of annimal exhibitions, traditional food, artistic exhibitions, and cultural attractions. Parents will have no problem going around during this event, since there will be various attractions for kids and adults alike. While parking is not a problem.
This event will kickoff on the 10th with a three-hour extravaganza of traditional folk singing called Ghana.
A special attraction will take place in two WWII shelters which will be open for the public throughout the day on the 11th. On the same day people will have the chance to go around the historic streets of this city and enjoy some genuine traditional food, strawberies and other fresh fruit, buy vegetables from stalls, and homemade products.
The organisers will also present two exhibitions by local artists Silvio Pace and Aaron Camilleri Cauchi. Other attractions include band parades, street decorations, dog shows, and a huge spring fair with prices. A great musical show by local talents will wrap-up the night on Sunday, with the event closing late in the evening.
The Malta Springfest 2010 is organized by Kumitat Festi Esterni (AD 1919) in conjunction with the Qormi Local Council, the Parliamentary Secretariat responsible for councils, MTA, the Commerce Division and Malta Crafts Council. Kumitat Festi Esterni is well renowned for these events on a national level, having organised for five consecutive years the famous Qormi Wine Festival.
