Paola Hibs Candy overcame the challenge of Fleur de Lys 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-10, 25-16) to set up a championship decider against Flyers Depiro.

In the men's league, Valletta Mapei were declared champions after Defenders Aloysians were given a walkover by Sliema.

Although Michael Magro's Fleur de Lys have stepped up their game in their last outings, their efforts were not enough to stop Hibs from chalking up another three points in their quest to retain the title.

Hibs coach David Bonnici fielded his usual line-up and the team responded well, immediately opening an advantage against committed but error-prone opponents.

After winning the first set rather comfortably, Hibs stayed on top as they went 23-16 in front in the second set.

However, at this stage, Fleur de Lys began to push their opponents harder, taking nine points in succession to win the set 25-23.

Fleur de Lys's joy was short-lived as Hibs dominated the next two sets for a 3-1 victory that pulls them level with Flyers at the top of the standings with only the direct match between the two contenders still to be played.
