A 46-year-old man from Cospicua and his daughter's boyfriend were separately arraigned in court today and accused of threatening each other with knives.
Joseph Muscat, 46, was accused of threatening Lawrence Cassar, 19, with a flick knife and damaging the garage of the house he shares with the daughter, Charlene, in Fgura. He was also accused of driving negligently and in a dangerous manner.
The court, in granting bail, issued a protection order in favour of Mr Cassar and the accused's daughter.
Mr Cassar was accused of assaulting Mr Muscat with a knife, although he did not injure him.
The incident allegedly happened on Tuesday-Wednesday night.
Both men pleaded not guilty and were granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000 each.
