Local ICT institute STC recently conducted its first graduate tracer study, which showed 98 per cent of its students rated the quality of the establishment's programmes either 'excellent' or 'satisfactory'.

The study also showed that 86 per cent of those questioned thought the knowledge and skills taught at STC were easily transferable to the workplace.

STC commissioned independent research which collated interviews with 125 students who graduated in the past four years. STC aims to run the tracer study annually to keep abreast of change and use student feedback to fine-tune its curriculum.

The study showed students rank the institute's ability to offer internationally-accredited courses as the top benefit of studying at STC. Former students listed also the modular nature of STC courses that allow for certification at each stage, and the fact that tutors are industry practitioners, not solely academics, as other key benefits of the STC approach.

STC is furthering its international certification: in addition to the Middlesex University top-up BSc programmes, STC is working closely with the UK university to launch MSc programmes later this year.

CEO Patrick Pullicino said the tracer study was not only a first of its kind for the institute, but also a rarity in Malta.
