Winery to hold open day
Emmanuel Delicata, Malta's oldest winery, will hold its first ever open day tomorrow.
Visitors will be able to view Delicata's winemaking facility with explanations along the way describing the transformation from the ‘Vine to the Wine'. The tour will include the grape reception and accreditation bay, the grape pressing facility, the red wine tank farm, fermentation halls, the filtration unit, laboratory, bottling hall, bag in box and combibloc production unit, stores, the returnable bottle collection point and the wine barrel maturation cellars.
Visitors will also be able to taste a selection of over 20 D.O.K. and I.G.T. Maltese & Gozitan wines and buy bottles at bargain prices.
There will be a Food area and a children's area.
The winery which is located on the waterfront in Marsa (turn left at the roundabout on the way to Corradino).
Doors will be open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Today I visited the factory. Now I know why they don't produce sparkling wine!
Such is the road near the factory that the trucks won't be able to transport the bottles out of the factory without all the corks popping.
Unless they get a hovercraft. But then the dust problem would be out of this world.
