Water bowser with 10,000 litres of diesel confiscated by Customs

The Customs Department seized a water bowser carrying 10,000 litres of diesel abandoned in a street in Xrobb l-Għaġin, Marsaxlokk. The department had already seized another bowser belonging to the same person in Żejtun.

Investigations led to three plastic tanks containing 1,000 litres of diesel each. The department also found other tanks in yet another Żejtun garage, however, these were empty save for the "strong smell of diesel".

The cases have been referred to the police Economic Crimes Unit and investigations are ongoing.
