Thousands participate in Our Lady of Sorrows processions
Thousands of people took part in processions behind statues of Our Lady of Sorrows throughout Malta and Gozo today in what is regarded as the opening of Holy Week.
Archbishop Paul Cremona led the procession from Ta' Giezu Church in Valletta.
Some people walked barefoot in a sign of sacrifice.
Earlier in the day most schools also organised Masses and some also held small processions.
Archbishop Cremona will also lead a national Holy Week pilgrimage on Wednesday evening in Birkirkara.

@C.Busuttil, first of all who the hell are you to tell me what to do? Second, what do you mean by answers, have you got ant good answers you want to share? Thirdly, so you think that all the Swedes are cold-hearted and I suppose you think all Maltese are kind-hearted, or at least the ones that follow a statue. I hope you know what being a pagan means, and that includes praying to a statue. I will be coming for a holiday to Malta on the 18th of July so try and stop me.

Paganity at its best, or worst depends how one looks at it.

I'm agnostic so you wouldn't expect me to comment in their favour but actually they're not hurting anyone and they're not doing anything wrong really...
