A woman who allegedly encouraged a married man to have sex with her, so that she could later blackmail him, was remanded in custody today after being accused in court of making threats and commiting violence.
The incident allegedly took place at Bahar ic-Caghaq on January 7 at 10.20 p.m..
Carmela Camilleri, 38, of Gzira, is alleged to have had sex with this man while a friend of hers ‘surprised’ the two and asked the victim to pay €18,640 for him not to tell his wife.
Ms Camilleri was also charged with breaching bail conditions, including an order that she was to be at home by not later than 9 p.m.
Ms Camilleri pleaded not guilty. The court issued a protection in favour of the alleged victim.
