I would like to thank all those involved with the recent Tour ta' Malta cycle race but especially the organising committee; I have been fortunate over the years to visit Malta many, many times for sport but I think that this year's Tour has been the best yet.

With the hardest working sports official I have ever met - John Zammit - at the helm of the organising committee they have certainly brought a lot of credit to Malta and our thanks and congratulations go to Mr Zammit and his team.

The dedication of her overall win by Iona Sewell of Squadra Donne women's cycle racing team to the family of Cliff Micallef, who was so tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver, was a fitting tribute to all those who love our sport in Malta.
