Project to integrate regular migrants launched
A project for the integration of third country nationals, aimed at integrating regular migrants, has been launched by the Malta European Mobility.
Financed by the European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals, which is part of the European Union Programme Agency, the project emphasises the need of solidarity to promote social and economic development in Malta and beyond.
The main aim of the project, Solid, is to broaden the idea that cooperation between Malta and third countries is possible to help in the integration of regular migrants.
It is to serve as a model for the development of integration politics brought forward by the European Union towards third countries.
Activities in the project, which will be spread over three months, will address the possible benefits of integration of regular migrants in Malta. It focuses mainly on the socio-cultural aspect as well as the personal dimensions of integration and the social interactions of participants from third countries. To reach this aim a number of seminars and conferences are going to be organised in the coming weeks.
The first activity is a conference which will bring together Maltese and regular migrants to discuss the main challenges ahead and how to reap the greatest benefits out of immigrant integration.
This project is being managed by Malta European Mobility which together with Fondazzjoni Temi Zammit and the Kirkop Local Council will work to support integration.

For example, the Romans knew about China and traded with it, as did Arabs with India etc, but this did not mean that whole swaths of Chinese population had to move to Rome, for there to be commerce and interdependence.
In fact any attempt to takeover other people’s land has led to Wars. Be it the Zulu wars in Africa, the Indian Wars in North America. Even amongst Europeans, two World Wars were fought in the last century, to gain land, such as Hitler’s invasion of Poland for “Living Space” for Germans.
Mass migration benefits only the world’s richest Globalist-Capitalists. Immigration ensures a cheap source of labour to exploit and an ever growing market. Furthermore, social unrest created by the cultural clashes, will virtually guarantee that Capitalist rule will never be opposed since the lower classes will be too busy fighting each other for limited resources.

It seems you and your notorious fellow Igalea have a lot of unresolved anger and frustration against the system that you direct at the wrong persons. I do not know, and I don't want to know, your political party affiliation (not to say addiction!) but you remind me of times in Malta when it was almost instititutionalised that Maltese women married to foreigners were directly/indirectly forced to leave and follow their spouses who were not allowed to work and take care of their families in Malta. Think of the number of people (with a foreign component) who were/are in many ways affected by those arbitrary un/official policies! There are people who choose to stay here in Malta out of free will and choice in pursuit of noble objectives. Whilst I thank you for your unwarranted advice, that I "would be living in a much happier environment if ..I..were among ...my...own culture and people rather then being the eternal outsider", a status that I respectfully accept with pride and dignity the rules of my adopted home, I am the least concerned that you seem to be a frustrated eternal irrelevant insider. You forget to mention that Aryen race supremacy philosophy

Firstly, both illegal and legal immigration did one thing – eliminate and decimate the indigenous population – this holds true for North America and Australia and South America. Therefore, immigration per se is not intrinsically a good thing. I am sure that even you would be living in a much happier environment if you were among your own culture and people rather then being the eternal outsider.
Of course humans had migrated out of Africa and populated the entire planet (except for the South Pole). Therefore, all continents are spoken for. That happened only once in human prehistory.
Now to propose that immigration starts again into already populated countries and continents, as is the case today, is nothing but a political agenda design to spread unrest and poverty around the globe. The new ‘immigration’ is nothing but sanctioned. ‘Home invasions’, under the guise of ‘humanitarianism’. Countries and continents have always been interdependent and trade and culture have criss-crossed each other without the need for people to be moved around and take other lands, except of course in the days of the Conquistadors, and Wars of Empire.

So MrNotMyFriend Raymond Cachia,
According to you and your likes of IGalea, "... both illegal and legal immigration did one thing – eliminate and decimate the indigenous population – this holds true for North America and Australia and South America."
Are you including all Maltese immigrants in Australia, Canada, USA, UK and all those now working and living in EU countries and elsewhere in the world who work/ed very hard and settled against all odds and became citizens of those countries and become the de facto unpaid ambassadors of Malta and the Maltese people?
I do certainly respect every person opinion, but before you spit your racist and xenophobic rethoric, you should think about those Maltese who legally work and live in other countries around the world. Whether invisible or unkown to you, their material and moral contribution to the maltese society is an established fact.

@ Raymond Cachia: Why not stop making the confusion between regular migrant and an illegal immigrant? The history of humanity is a history of migration, a phenomenon of the forces of nature and sometimes combined with man-made wickedness! While you will continue to fume and bark and throw your venon at the vulnerable legal and illegal immigrants without any distiction, because you have neither the courage or the intellectual and spiritual to take on the people who initiated the project, these will continue to rip the benefits and move Malta into the new era of world interdependance.

Can anybody ask either Japan , Korea , or any of the asian countries if they take on any refugees from the African nations .. think not , they pride themselfs with their heritage , standard of living and national sense of pride. So please think long and hard before you open up our shores to these people with their ideas and customs , once they are inside the country , its very hard to get them out .

@Dear Mr Igalea
You try to use the immigration issue to the aim of helping PL to get back in power. What you do not realize is that PL is part of Socialist Internation. Should PL be in power, I would like to know what will you do - support PL and keep mouth shut? or try to get PN back in power?

Much as I do not agree with IGalea, I will not allow foreigners to insult our citizens on the question of illegal immigration. So all yee foreigners, we see our own national interests, as much as you care for your own country of origin, and we take lessons from no one. It's us who can give lessons to other nationals and not vice versa. So please spare us the diatribes against our much less brighter citizens of Malta.

We do not need any immigrants to 'enrich' Maltese culture, thank you very much. We Maltese are perfectly able to do it as we have done so in the past.
Enough of your shilling for the EU social engineering project! And why are these 'immigrants' not out there 'enriching' their own cultures as we speak, what do they want with our tiny nation of Malta.
The EU is not a democratic institution and is dictating to the sovereign people of Malta, who unfortunately are no longer being represented by their elected members of parliament.
Let us have a referendum to be truly democratic and see how many Maltese want to 'integrate' these people, who I can assure you have absolutely nothing positive to contribute to our society, as the recent seminar, held by the University of Malta about "Migrants and increase in Crime", held under the auspices of the EU and other entities, undoubtedly prove.

http://www.maltamobility.org/ must be an April Fools joke. How could such a site quote:
'Catch it if you can!
With the on-growing multiculturalism and ever increasing mobility across countries, we couldn’t think of something better than to put you on a plane and send you off to face a lifetime opportunity!'
With side tabs of Arrivals and Departures.
The article is saying that the aim of this project is to integrate REGULAR migrants but a vast majority are IRREGULAR.
I think it's just a matter of some trying to 'Catch some EU money while they can'.

I am all for Integration of people from whatever nation they come from, in their host countries. What I do seriously question relates to what in practice and real life, these people end up doing in thier hosted societies. I tend to think that there are still "undeclared" issues. What do I mean ? Multiculturalism is indeed a positive way forward, but when it comes to cross-cultural marriages or relationships, the facts are otherwise. People still "selectively" choose with whom they live with and pro-create. "To be with somebody who is "culturally" like you", sort of to say.
Not just that, but also, what kind of work do these people do. I mention taxi drivers, if not taxi companies, restaurants and take aways. I also notice the other end of the spectrum like professionals such as engineers, chemists, and managers for example.
I tend to think that Europe has to do more in this regard. This "Multi Culti" phenomenom should not end up defining "who does what and who doesn't" !!! To me, there are already "visual cues" that are leading into this.
I welcome this initiative in Malta wholeheartedly. May these people find true freindship, love and prosperity too.

The Islam saga of Europe continues. The majority of these African immigrants are Muslim. Only Muslims welcome immigrants to our western nations. Malta is full up.

Dear MrNotMyFriend Igalea, I usually read your venom without giving it much attention! I do admire your anti-immigration rethoric but at the same time its people like you who are inspiring those who took the initiative of the project. Unlike you, they know that the Maltese civilisation is the typical example of the what some intellectuals called "metissage culturel" -Sorry if I lost you here- They know better that the best way forward is to integrate law abiding migrants who can contribute to enrich the Maltese society. But thank you for your advice anyway, I will be gone in a few years time subsequent to my health or/and age...sadly that you too you will follow if you do not leave before me! But for the time being, I still have unfinished noble business.

I agree!! Since these people have a right to stay in Malta, and are going to have to mix with the indegenious population, better to do it in an orderly manner, so that it would be beneficial to both, and without any hatred. Almost most countries in the world now, have some sort of multi-culturism, so why not Malta. Of course the numbers have to be somewhat controlled in order to co-exist in peace. Other than that I see nothing wrong with it...we should be honoured that they chose a place like Malta to live!!!!

Third country nationals have no right to emigrate to Malta. The incompetent pn government has only been hoodwinked into accepting migration from other eu countries nationals but others have NO right to come and settle in Malta. We do not even have enough space, resources and work for oUR citizens let alone others especially from third countries. When are you going to come to your senses and realize that the eu project is about eliminating the Maltese citizens and culture with their multiculturalism which only led to violence in other countries?

We want deportation, not intergration.EU*money given to hoodwink us.We do not want to be a model for intergration. Many so called marriages a a farce, women offer themselves on the internet, they come here, get married to some fellow and then leave him and are still able to remain here.Third world countries, East European countries, this island is full.As some one wrote last week, I too shall vote for anyone who promises to rid us of this invasion.

That advert is promoting the Leonardo Da Vinci EU programme - has nothing to do with the EU project that is mentioned in this news item and has nothing to do with regular or irregular immigration.
So no one is sending out planes to get in 3rd country nationals - the Leonardo programme is for EU nationals and is part of the lifelong education programme.

This project is to serve as a "model" in other words it is experimental and we are the guinea pigs.
Who are the persons behind the "Malta European Mobility". This is misnomer. "Africa/Malta Invasion would be more appropriate.
Is this all that the Department for Third Country Nationals can do other than providing food, beds and underwear for illegal immigrants?
Is there a not-so-misterious hand that is piloting such a project and occasionally regaling us with articles trying to convince us that such immigrants provide an opportunity that we should avail of?
The persons who are really in need can hardly sustain themselves let alone pay for guided treks along Africa and then their Mediterranean cruise. For every illegal immigrant that we sustain, ten or more could be fed in their home country.

Under a regulated and strict market, regular migrants are a blessing to our society since they provide services to our society that our current market cannot provide. I can't imagine for example how can Mater Dei operate without the help of foreign medical staff.
Please do not mix regular migrants who come to Malta and pay their taxes with illegal immigrants. Thalltux hass mal bass.

Ron Saliba Its better that YOU go for a walk to reflect on what immigration is doing to Malta and OUR citizens Saliba. My country is Malta. It is not the third countries migrants country. Third countries citizens have NO right to settle in Malta apart from those married to Maltese citizens. I use caps because I am disgusted how the government is doing absolutely nothing to prevent the takeover of MY country by foreigner settlers and illegal immigrants.

Since when has Malta opened up immigration from third countries?
WE DO NOT EVEN HAVE SPACE FOR OURSELVES, SO HOW DOES THE EU PETTY DICTATORS EXPECT US TO WELCOME AND INTEGRATE THIRD COUNTRIES NATIONALS WITH US?
This is another negative effect of eu membership whose petty dictators are hell-bent to destroy Malta, the Maltese population and culture.
Are the true real Maltese citizens going to take all this destruction of our country, population and culture sitting down?
