The Point, the shopping mall at Tigné Point that opened over the weekend, was a hive of activity yesterday albeit a Monday morning, as people set out to explore the shopping haven.
Shoppers checked out the outlets on offer as workmen put finishing touches to shop fronts ahead of the last few retailers moving in.
There were numerous security staff directing cars in and out of the vast car park that sits alongside the mall, apparently ironing out the last few kinks in the system and making sure nobody got lost.
Shoppers were impressed. Christina Gauci, of Sliema, described the mall as a lovely experience. "Malta needed something like this," she said. "I think it's going to be a big hit."
Vincent Muscat, also of Sliema, felt it was nearly the same standard "as abroad" while Chris Zammit, of Rabat, said: "It's a very nice looking place. You don't expect it's going to be this big from the outside!"
"Awesome! Great! It's beautiful in here. It's like we're abroad," gushed shoppers Damita Camilleri and Nadya Portelli.
