Eritrea was an Italian colony. So this Eritrean left his country probably for Italy, the country of his dreams. He went to Libya where he worked long enough to earn money to pay for his illegal trip to Italy. Something happened and he ended up in Malta. His dream still is to go to Italy and from there perhaps to Sweden. In the meantime he breaks the laws of every country he passes through. Eritrea is a very big country, hundreds of times the size of Malta. Isn't there some corner of Eritrea to where this Eritrean can be sent?

What was an illegal immigrant doing drinking in a bar in Rabat? Who gives him the money to drink in Bars? Money from my taxes I presume.Get these people out of this island. We do not want them here. I shall vote for anyone who is anti immigration, particularly anti illegal immigration.

I shall do likewise. The political parties had better listen.

This incident does not seem to have been much more serious than the one involving army officers in Lesbos. I think that a six year suspended jail sentence is exaggerated in view of the guilty plea filed in a very early stage of the proceedings. It seems that our courts have a sentencing policy for Maltese citizens and another for non-Maltese, especially, irregular migrants. In the meanwhile, I note the contributions made by authentic Maltese with surnames such as Gialanze', Wood and Doughty and of course, yours truly.

Many Maltese have those surnames, what is the problem with that?
People like you have caused mayhem with supporting wrongdoing and uncontrolled illegal immigration. The seeds of future conflict are being sown by complete idiots.

And here's the usual solitary sean grima defending people who beat police officers, if it was a maltese you would not have seen his name but whenever it's illegal immigrants he will always find an excuse for their daily crimes.

when are you going to stop defending illegal immigrants and their illegality and start defending your own country (I wonder if you really are Maltese after all) and your brethren instead of illegal immigrants sean. Shame and shame again on you.

Hardly a day goes by that these aliens are not in the news for the wrong things. This is what we got ourselves into on opening the floodgates of immigration. EU membership has africanized Malta. Unlike the absolute majority of Maltese citizens the Jesuits and a former politician sees immigration as an opportunity. We ordinary mortals, who do not get a 24 hour police guard, tend to think otherwise and consider illegal immigrants a liability and a drain on our economy. Furthermore, we are no longer safe walking our streets at night because of these people and if anything want them repatriated. In the event that the authorities fail to allay our concerns by the time we are called to the polls, the far right might yet turn out to be kingmakers.

What would happen if a Maltese person were to injure a Police Officer in HIS country !! This person should have been deported with out delay so that the rest of his countrymen would get the message..........................Wake up Malta, the writing has been on the wall since we joined the EU.

His sentence should be immediate deportation! NO excuses, no do-gooders able to stick their oar in - end of. Europe is going insane with all the illegal immigration issues, our very societies are crumbling apart with discord - it is all out of hand. The time to start giving out the right messages needs to start forthwith.
