Enemalta Corporation has embarked on a €5.7 million project to improve the capacity of transmission and distribution of electricity to Gozo.

To this effect Finance Minister Tonio Fenech recently inau-gurated a new Enemalta district office in Xewkija where a 33kV distribution centre is also being built. Construction work is expected to be completed this year. The corporation has issued a tender for the supply and installation of equipment required in the three distrubution centres.

Present for the inauguration were Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono, Gozo Bishop Mario Grech and Enemalta chairman Alex Tranter.
