Let me clarify my point. A bike accident may be caused by a lot of things. Distraction, poor road surface, other drivers ect.... the list goes on. Yes I have to agree that this road looks better than other roads but compares to the roads in Sicily for example, there is an enormous difference in the grip and the tarmac's composure. Ok I know this is Malta and ''kollox jaddi alina'' but I would really like to see our road standard raised. We do pay road tax after all and deserve better. Concerning the biker injured, I am not going to point fingers as I was not there and do not know exactly what happened. I just wish him a speedy recovery and hope that others will not meet this fate.

The position of the van touching the white line is a question mark? The road is good and not bumpy (that particular area where the accident happened), I drive through it every day. A few question needs to be answered, was the van overtaking and got back to its carriage to avoid an accident or the motor was staying too close to the white line and the motorcyclist panicked as he saw the van so close. Its up to the accident surveyors to draw up the sketch. Wishing the motorcyclist a speedy recovery.

Yesterday I was involved in a small bike accident myself. I was hit by a tourist who was probabbly lost, a friend consulted a map and turned abrubtly towards my bike. I think my accident would have been avoided if in Malta we start offering a GPS when hiring a car. This comment is not to take the focus from this accident but maybe it will help create awareness. Get Well soon fellow Biker.

@w.scicluna
Blaming the roads again?
From what I can see on these pictures, this particular road looks pretty good.

I join W Scicluna in wishing a speedy recovery to the injured driver.
Re roads; I note that this road has a rather smooth surface. There may be other reasons for such an accident. Human error or distraction?

I am also a biker of many years: how can you tell it's the road's fault that caused this accident?

if you cant see a blue uniform in broad daylight, then i suggest you get an eyesight test, and if you drive, chech your eyesight thoroughly.

Get well soon fellow biker. Maybe if we had better roads, such accidents could be avoided.
