South African company to open plastics factory in Malta
The South African plastics company, Green Compounding Co Ltd, is setting up a factory in Malta, Malta Enterprise executive chairman Alan Camilleri said this morning.
Addressing a business forum in Cape Town, South Africa, Mr Camilleri said the Malta factory, to open later this year, will produce thermo plastic polymer master batches.
It will be the first South African company to set-up a manufacturing plant in Malta. Others are already in discussions with Malta Enterprise.
Mr Camilleri is leading a business delegation of 20 company representatives to Durban and Cape Town on a trade and investment delegation.

Mr. I Galea, why did you have to involve Joseph Muscat. For your information, Mr. Du Toit is putting money where his mouth is. Zeppi tieghek qed jidilkek bix-xema. He is promising you heaven on earth if he was to become Prime Minister. What he really means is: "From heaven to hell".

Mr or Ms Lang you can go to lomold.com The website will be launched next week, but from there you can get to two other websites of two of its sister companies. Promise, mate, this is no Deserta factory or Bahhar u Sewwi project.

I hate responding to Charles J. Buttigieg, but occasionally he deserves an answer to make him realize how ridiculous most of his comments are. As I stated on a previous occassion, at the moment I am in Cape Town and attended yesterday's Malta Enterprise meeting with Wesgrow in Cape Town. The owner of the Green Compounding Co. Ltd was present and he addressed the gathering. You should have been there hearing him praise Malta, it brought tears of joy and pride.
Mr. buttigieg, so you were happy with the the Diserta factory which deprived us of decent chocolate? Were you also happy with the colour TV assembly factory which deprived us of a choice of brands? Were you happy with the capers factory? Maybe it was the carob factory that impressed you most.

On 16 October 2009 it was reported in the Times of Malta that a total 41.3 percent of net inflows of FDI for the first six months of this year originated from EU member states while 30.3 per cent of Malta’s FDI originated from Turkey coupled with the Smart city investment which is from Dubai here I could only read another message: When it comes to business , Lowell-ismists should keep the hysteria aside and only think of Malta’s interest.

@ M Mifsud
Did you use to feel bad when factories were opening during Labour Administrations? What makes you think that Labour and its supporters have a bad day when good news comes out? I assume that by “the prophets of doom and gloom “you were referring to PL.

Why don't you go work with some of these companies then speak out about doom and gloom!! Armchair thinking is very convenient.

@ Mr.Cachia,
how about skilled labour, professionalism, EU membership (meaning easier access to the market), SOME (not as many as the government boasts i'm afraid) GOOD speakers with very competent English (and communication) skills. I suppose this company would have opened anywhere it could within the EU.... the fact that Malta markets itself well abroad is a positive thing. whether our marketing claims are true, on the other hand, is another story.....
