Maltese soldiers recalled from Greece

Five members of the Armed Forces of Malta who were serving out of the town of Mitilini on the Frontex joint-operation Poseidon, were involved in an incident with a number of Greek locals while off duty, the government said yesterday.

As a result, the military personnel, who were stationed on the island of Levos, were recalled to Malta.

Further investigations were being conducted, the government added.

No further details were given.
