Seven players banned

Seven Premier League players were yesterday handed a one-match ban.

Valletta defender Kenneth Scicluna will have to miss his side's delicate clash with Qormi tomorrow after his sending-off in the 2-1 defeat to Sliema Wanderers cost him a one-match ban.

Qormi will also be without one of their first-choice defenders tomorrow after Roderick Sammut received a one-match ban.

The right-back has been disciplined after he collected his fourth yellow card in Qormi's 2-0 victory over Tarxien Rainbows last Friday.

Sliema Wanderers captain Ivan Woods has also been suspended for one match after he incurred his fourth booking in the win over Valletta.

Justin Grioli and Kurt Magro, two Valletta players who are playing on loan with Tarxien, have been ruled out of the Rainbows' game against leaders Birkirkara on Saturday after both received their fourth booking in the defeat to Qormi.

Relegation strugglers Msida will be without Kevin Mifsud and Andrew Formosa (four yellow cards) for their match against Ħamrun Spartans the weekend after next.
