Go upgrades TV facilities to offer better football coverage
Telecoms company Go is beefing up its television infrastructure to be able to keep up with the English Premier League and Italian Serie A, which it will be covering as of next season.
This would allow it to broadcast six live events simultaneously, including football matches from the English and Italian leagues, the company said.
The upgrade works will take place in Go's TV operations facilities at the Magħtab master facility and will include a new play-out system, enabling the company to receive and record up to 10 simultaneous live feeds while being able to transmit to the customers' homes six of the 10 live feeds.
Go said it was also upgrading its operations centre at the Maghtab facility in order to ensure that its TV team would be able to monitor and direct all transmissions effectively. An audio studio is being set up within the TV operations centre to cater for live commentary during football matches and other sports events.
The company said it wanted to reassure customers that they could watch the majority of the World Cup matches on its platform, either on TVM or on international channels.

Can GO tell us when the Internet Infrastructure in the south part of the islan will be upgraded? I've had the 8MB service for the past year and a half and never manager to see past 3.5MB. Called the service desk numerous times only to get the same reply that works are pending.
