The local warden reform is a most welcome move in the right direction. However, one aspect involving wardens which does not seem to have been mentioned is when wardens are assigned to attend to road works.

I think the basic task of wardens assigned such duties is to check and ensure that the contractor or public entity carrying out the work have in place the appropriate road and works signage. This is a great opportunity to end the "one-cone-says-it-all" culture. Empowering the warden to take the necessary measures if the appropriate signage is not in place is surely another contribution towards making our roads safer.
