Sustainable energy technology use today and tomorrow

A one-day seminar is being organised by the University of Malta's Institute for Sustainable Energy at the MSCT, Villa Bighi, Kalkara, on Tuesday at 8.30 a.m.

This seminar will focus on existing and possible future technologies and how they apply to Malta.

Talks will cover topics such as 'The Maltese energy landscape', 'Energy efficiency', 'Energy in transport', 'Photovoltaics, new technologies and developments', and 'Biofuels and biomass'.

Workshops will be held after lunch, with a concluding address by Resources Minister George Pullicino given at 4.45 p.m.

The conference will attract key policy makers, academics, industrial players, government officials, members from various NGOs, teachers and students, among others.

After the seminar all the presentations, discussions and recommendations will be summarised and published in a report.

Poverty in Malta

The Chaplaincy is organising a talk entitled 'Poverty in Malta - How are we tackling it?' on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m, with guest speaker Nora Macelli, CEO, St Jeanne Antide Foundation.
