Giovanni Barbaro-Sant was recently awarded the David Ashton Award by the Centre for Labour Market Studies, University of Leicester, for achieving a Master's in Human Resource Management and Development with distinction.

Four other Maltese students successfully read for the Master's programme in Human Resources Management and Development - Louis Azzopardi, Marilyn Ciantar, Stephen Ebejer and Maria Zahra, while Raymond Degiorgio, Anna Schmidt, and Cristabelle Tabone read for a Master's in Human Resource Development and Performance Management.

Joe Gerada, chief executive officer of the Foundation for Human Resources Development, which represents the University of Leicester, Centre for Labour Market Studies, said the partnership between the University of Leicester and the foundation contributed to a new generation of competent and qualified people managers in Malta.

The foundation will be holding a seminar on May 28.
