Red Bull's Vettel on pole in Bahrain

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel took the first pole of the new Formula One season in Bahrain this afternoon,

Ferrari's Felipe Massa will start alongside the German on the front row after taking second with former champions Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton on the second row.

Returning legend Michael Schumacher finished seventh in his Mercedes, one place ahead of reigning world champion Jenson Button.
