Enemalta tackles minor oil spill
Enemalta said today that a minor oil spill took place at Has Saptan oil storage facility this morning during the unloading of distillate fuel from a tanker. The discharge operation was immediately stopped and the fuel was pumped from the leaking tank to another tank.
"At no time was there any hazard to health and safety as the minor spillage flowed into a purposely built interceptor. The fuel collected in the interceptor trench was immediately uplifted into drums and the area wiped clean. The recovered fuel will be cleaned and recycled," Enemalta said.
Enemalta reported the incident to all the relevant authorities.

can MEPA tell us what is being built in that area of Has-Saptan. On the way to Hal Far I notices farmhouses being built in full eyeview of one and all. What is happening there? Machinery, trucks, buildings - are they ilegal farmhouses? Not even on the MEPA website are they marked as contruction sites. MEPA Tell us what is happening there. We want to know why someone is building over there while others cannot convert their small rooms at Bahrija into a farmhouse. Who is building over there?
