We thank Alan Kay for his contribution (Questionable Decision On Payment By Debit Card, March 10) and kindly assure him that we are "clearly" not oblivious to anything that goes on, not just around us but globally.

We also thank Mr Kay for his custom throughout these past years and we are sure that he remained a loyal customer because we offer good quality food products at better prices, which is a good reason to go through the hassle the road works at Latmija Road is presenting to our clientele.

Mr Kay is notorious in our establishment for his attention to detail, scrutiny and frequent comments, all of which are noted, and mostly acted upon.

For the record, Mr Kay's debit card was accepted on March 5 at 2.07 p.m. amounting to €19.45. The receipt bearing Mr Kay's signature is in our files.

We try our best to keep our prices as competitive as possible, and at times even a one per cent variance hurts.

However, we do feel that after years of custom, Mr Kay should have tried to approach the management, who are always available.
