Still no mention of PM's 'positive results' (2)

In spite of the global financial crisis, businesses in Malta performed much better than the average of our European counterparts last year. According to statistics published by Eurostat on March 3, Malta fared very well, placing third. Malta saw a 2.6 per cent increase in retail trading while EU member states experienced an average 1.6 per cent reduction.

Even in the eurozone, Malta did very well, coming in second. The average rate for countries in the eurozone was a reduction of 1.3 per cent. This is very encouraging news for business confidence and an unequivocal confirmation that the Nationalist government is adopting the appropriate solutions to weather the international financial turbulence.

Simply painting a desired picture and trying to promote the feel-good factor will not make reality go away except for those who have their heads buried in the sand. However, when they take their head out of the sand they will get the biggest shock of their lives.
