HSBC Foundation consolidates bank's three local charities

HSBC Bank Malta plc is to set up the HSBC Foundation to better integrate the bank's corporate sustainability programmes, it was announced yesterday.

The foundation consolidates the three existing funds (HSBC Cares for Children, HSBC Cares for the Environment, and HSBC Cares for Malta's Heritage) into one entity.

Chaired by Catherine Gonzi, the foundation's main focus remains underprivileged children, the environment and Malta's heritage.

"We have simplified the structure of the funds supporting our work in the local community with the creation of the HSBC Foundation," HSBC Malta chief executive officer Alan Richards said.
