Police invited to investigate licences corruption claims
Transport Malta said today that it had asked the police to investigate corruption claims made by Labour MP Joe Mizzi in Parliament.
Mr Mizzi alleged yesterday that there was massive fraud in the issuing of driving and vehicle licences by the ADT, which now forms part of Transport Malta.
He said that hundreds of vehicle licences had been issued without payment having been made, and the auditors had not noticed the discrepancies.
Furthermore, persons within the Authority had been bribed to alter driving licences to cover various categories of driving.
He also alleged that senior officials knew what was happening but were not acting or were protecting those involved, to the extent that police investigations were being misled.

Why are you surprised? If I am not mistaken we had already experience corruption in this Authority. I suggest you to take off your political blindness, as this corruption is being paid by the tax payer, which in other words means you and me.

Come on PN apologists. Why was there such expectancy of the gas flame at Kercem on that memorable date? Why did EFA say at Zebbug pre-election that there was no oil at Kercem, and after winning the election, spent Lm4 million to continue the exploration? Why did the PN government spent that kind of money, if there was no oil? Or was there? Please answer these questions, and not harass Mr. J. Mizzi for doing his job in protecting us, Maltese citizens from the PN government steamrolling over with the w&e tariffs, and for the upper echelons everthing is being done to soften the blow!

I see that the PN appologists are trying to redicule what should be a very serious matter.
But then it's nothing new!

What a bunch of sad people. You just come here claiming something which has nothing to do with the case in point. You are all so dumb and politically poisoned, that you are happy that there is corruption in an entity to which you are paying taxes and your only pleasure is that you come in here and start shooting nonsense as usual. The king is J Martinelli with no doubt. Please folks, start to grow up and be true to yourself. I know you are all eating your herats out as you are seeing your government crumbling and being tainted daily with shadows of corruption but talking nonsense is not the answer.
Well done to Joe Mizzi for unveiling such irregularities. Keep defending us taxpayers.

How funny these PN bloggers are. When they have nothing to say about the subject, they start attacking everyone personally left, right and centre.

Come on Mizzi. Take that smirk off your face and tell us where the oil is!

What has corruption in the Licences Department to do with oil?
If you want to be objective at least make sense.

@ Ray Spiteri
Can you ask someone to show you how to release the 'Caps Lock' on your keyboard? It is not such a big task and Joe Mizzi may be helpful. After all, if he still remembers where the oil is, he certainly can fix your small problem. He may even come over and press the Caps Lock key one more time for you and things will go back to normal.
Nuisances like these will certainly help Malta's economy. They certainly help the Times and other papers fill some empty spaces.

Oh Yes. I remember Joe Mizzi saying, just before the last elections, that if the Socialists win the elections he personally will find oil in the first six months. Come on Joe, do let us know and solve all our problems.

Is this another case like the one you had before the election? We are still waiting for you to tell us where the oil is, ALWAYS if you have this country at heart !!!
