Father accused of attempting to kill son
John Zammit, 61 of Ghajnsielem was arraigned in court in Gozo today and accused of the attempted murder of his son Nicholas, 28.
He is alleged to have stabbed Nicholas in the stomach at their home on Sunday after an argument.
Mr Zammit pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.

I think you meant:
if you you're an extortionist, usurer, drug dealer, pimp, thug, thief, benefits thief...and you threaten me constantly, I might be back against the wall and have to defend myself! People don't kill because they borrow money at high rates, otherwise bank employees would be at constant risk.
In this case specific case, I think it's a matter of sheer ignorance.
