The Commission for Domestic Violence yesterday inaugurated a reference library on the occasion of International Women's Day.

"While some may feel all battles have been won for women, the work of the commission demonstrates this is not so," the commission said yesterday. The commission added that it acknowledged the progress made but there was still a long way to go. Lack of full equality within society and power imbalance between the genders continued to contribute to maintaining violence against women, including domestic violence, it added. The library is situated in Block C, Belt is-Sebħ, Floriana and will be open on Tuesdays between 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
