Germany coach Joachim Loew said on Thursday that his side is not yet ready for this summer's World Cup in South Africa after they lost 1-0 to Argentina in a friendly match.
"There is still some work to do in all areas of our game. We'll be working on this in the four weeks running up to the tournament," Loew told the German sports news agency SID.
"We have to discover our style of fast and aggressive football.
"We did not show our true colours against Argentina, but we will play well at the World Cup."
Germany lost to Diego Maradona's Argentina in Munich on Wednesday with Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain netting the only goal late in the first half.
The match marked Germany's third consecutive game without a victory after successive 1-1 draws against Finland and Ivory Coast.
Loew refused to criticise his goalkeeper Rene Adler after his error let in Higuain to score.
"He made the right decision in coming off his line, but Argentina took it well," the German manager said.
Germany goalkeeping coach Andreas Kopke said prior to the match that Bayer Leverkusen's Adler, 25, will be Germany's number one between the posts in South Africa when the World Cup starts on June 11.
Germany, who have won the tournament three times, will play Australia, Serbia and Ghana in Group D.
