The objective of this conference/workshop is to familiarise the audience with IPR issues in the shipbuilding sector and to discuss practical measures enterprises can take first to protect their know-how and second to take action if IPR have been infringed. Addressees of the event are therefore representatives of enterprises and organisations dealing with IPR aspects from various angles. Discussions should therefore focus on the exchange of practical experience, as much as topical presentations.

April 27-28, Electronic Invoicing in Europe, Madrid
The aim of this conference is to discuss the key actions to be taken to remove the barriers which currently affect the use of electronic invoices in the EU. In that respect, four sessions addressing the current difficulties of e-Invoicing are planned. These will entail SMEs and E-invoicing, Interoperability, Standards and Legal framework for electronic invoices.
Speakers will include MEPs and the European Commission, representatives from the European Central Bank, high-level representatives of EU member state governments, businesses, standardisation bodies and NGOs. The conference will take place at the State Secretariat of Telecommunications and the Information Society in Madrid. The deadline for registration is March 15.

March 15-16, Exiting the crisis: Europe 2020, Brussels
This conference will address the future of European economic policy as well as new and original ways to cover news and current affairs relating to the economy. The programme includes high-level speakers from the European Commission, the London School of Economics, Manchester and Amsterdam Universities, FT, the Lisbon Council and the Social Platform, and journalist guests from the Brussels press corps. The conference coincides with the March Ecofin Council, which the participants will have an opportunity to follow.

March 17-18, Seventh Framework Programme training courses, San Gwann, Malta
The first course day is entitled Preparing and submitting successful FP7 proposals: an introduction. It is designed to help participants in identifying funding opportunities in FP7 and to equip them with the essential information needed to prepare a successful application. Participants will be provided with useful hints and tips on proposal writing (including financial aspects). Evaluation criteria and evaluation process will also be explained. The course will cover four FP7 themes, namely co-operation, capacities, people and ideas.
The second course, Financial management of FP7 projects, will provide an in-depth syllabus designed to help participants develop the understanding required to interpret and implement FP7 financial regulations in the daily management of their projects.

March 25, Women Entrepreneurship, Istanbul
This conference, "Promoting women entrepreneurship in European regions -opening doors to a brighter future", has the aim of creating an understanding and building up a knowledge concerning women entrepreneurship. It will examine the particularities of women entrepreneurship from a theoretical and practical perspective by presenting relevant studies and examples of women running a business. Further, more regional good practice in supporting women entrepreneurship will be presented, such as training courses, advisory services or awareness raising campaigns.

April 28-29, European Patent Forum 2010, Madrid
This two-day conference is aimed at uncovering Europe's renewable energy-technology strengths and weaknesses, finding out whether European industry is still in the race to lead the green boom, and whether political spending and policy support are adequate for the tasks at hand. During the conference first results of the study Patents And Clean Energy jointly conducted by the European Patent Office, the United Nations Environment Programme and the International Centre for Trade and Development, will be announced. To help bridge the gap between evidence and policy, the three organisations will present data on and insights into the relationship between patents and the development and transfer of clean energy technologies.
