Tesco unveils recycled fabric dresses

Supermarket chain Tesco yesterday unveiled a range of designer dresses made from recycled fabric.

The collection of six dresses for F&F was designed by eco fashion label From Somewhere, and uses discarded pre-consumer textile waste such as off-cuts and remnants which would otherwise be burned or buried in landfill sites.

The designs, available in sizes eight to 18 and starting at £16, feature the label's well-known figure-hugging styles. From Somewhere fans include Peaches Geldof, actress Emilia Fox and presenter Lauren Laverne.

Label founder and designer Orsola de Castro said: "It is a way of managing waste in a creative way, rather than pretending the problem doesn't exist."

The dresses were launched exclusively online at www.tesco.com/clothing.
